What does "Refer" mean?
Doctors, early childhood teachers, child care providers, or you may have concerns about your child's development. Assistance at a very young age can help a child grow and learn with more success now and in the future. Referrals or concerns can be made to the Early Childhood Special Education teacher. The decision to have your child screened or evaluated will be discussed with parents or caregivers to determine potential needs.
Who can refer?
Anyone can make a referral and the Early Childhood Special Education or Speech Clinician will determine to screen or evaluate your child.
How do I know if I should refer a child?
You can talk to the Early Childhood Special Education teacher or Speech Clinician if you have any concerns about your child's development whether it's speech/language; cognitive/academic (learning); motor; social; or self-help concerns.
How do I refer?
You can make an appointment for screening with the school nurse if your child has not been screened yet.
